Flinders Ranges : 3 Day Accommodation Quick Tour

Discover South Australia’s gateway to the Outback. Our journey starts with your Accommodation Pick up, as we depart Adelaide, with our small group comfortable in our Chauffeured 4wd, we travel northwards to the Flinders Ranges along the way we see an ever changing landscape.
 
As we begin to experience and see a diverse cultural and places of interest, Combined with the Panoramic views of the Flinders Ranges; we realize how old this country is.

Surrounding you is vast and breathtaking scenery of Flinders Ranges. Relaxing in a chair with a gentle afternoon breeze as “You” search the sky for a majestic Wedge Tail Eagle as it soars above.

Day 1
Depart Adelaide 8.00am and travel to Wilpena Pound through the towns of Clare, Spalding , Jamestown, Orroroo, Carrieton, Cradock stopping as required for photo opportunities to arrive at the Historic Hawker. After a refreshing stop we continue on to Wilpena Pound and settle in to our accommodation. Taking advantage of our daylight we step back in time and visit Old Wilpena Station Homestead and visit Cazenaux tree with time for stunning sunset photo’s ( L, D )

Day 2
8.30 am We start our day with a walk to historical Hills homestead via sliding rock along Wilpena creek. Wangarra Lookout will give you panoramic views of Wilpena pound. Swapping our walking shoes for the 4wd as we take you on a picturesque drive through Moralana valley which lies between the South West wall of Wilpena Pound and the Elder Ranges .We stop at the renowned Prairie Hotel at Parachilna to indulge in some “flinders feral food”, wild fruits, kangaroo fillet, emu eggs or perhaps wallaby stir fry. After lunch we continue our tour to Brachina Gorge, Bunyroo valley, Stokes hill lookout, and return via Wilpena solar station. (,B, L, D)

Day 3
8.30 am Unfortunately out time in the flinders closes as we leave Wilpena and journey south wards via Hawker. We visit Yourumbulla caves with some excellent examples of aboriginal rock paintings. Discover Kanyaka ruins and old wheat property dating back to 1851. As we head home we stop at Historic Quorn, home of South Australia’s Pichi Richi Railway. In Pt Augusta we have a option for you look at

1.45 pm we depart Pt Augusta for our return to Adelaide via Pt Wakefield for a quick rest stop we continue our return to arrive approx 5.30 pm to your CBD accommodation or direct to the Airport.

Super tour option we continue on to Kangaroo Island the next morning from city accommodation.
