3 Night Accommodation Wilpena Pound

Highlights. Wilpena Pound,Lake Eyre 4.5 hr Scenic flight, Brachina Gorge, Praire Hotel Parachilna, Youambulla Cave, and Clare Valley.

Our journey starts with your accommodation pick up as we depart Adelaide. With our small group comfortable in our Chauffeured 4wd, we travel northwards along the way we past an ever changing landscape. Discover South Australia’s gateway to your Outback Experience with diverse cultural and heritage places of interest along the way. Combined with the breathtaking scenery and sensational panoramic views of the vast area of Lake Eyre, Flinders Ranges and Outback

Day 1: Depart Adelaide at 8 am and travel to Wilpena Pound along the way we stop at Quorn, on of South Australia’s historical towns for lunch at the Quongdong café. Discover Kanyaka homestead ruins an old sheep property dating back to 1851. In Hawker we visit the Jeff Morgan gallery and see the Wilpena Panorama painting view from St Marys peak. Later arriving in Wilpena Pound around 4.30pm and settle into your accommodation before dinner(L,D)

Day 2: With an early start, we take a walk to historical Hills Homestead walking via sliding rock along the Wilpena creek then climb Wangarra lookout, this will give you some panoramic views of Wilpena Pound. We depart for Lake Eyre with Wilpena Air (Lake Eyre 2 Flight) early for our 4.5 hours round trip over Wilpena Pound, Elder Ranges and ABC Ranges then onto Lake Eyre. With breathtaking views along the way added with changing landscape we land at Muloorina Station for a break. Returning to Wilpena Pound via Leigh Creek and  a final look at the Brachina Gorge from the air.(B,L,D)

Day 3 :After a relaxed start to the day, we have swap our walking shoes for the 4wd as we take a picturesque drive through Bunnyroo Valley & Brachina Gorge for our up close ground view. We stop along the way for photo's and then onto the renowned Prairie Hotel at Parachilna to indulge in some flinders feral food, wild fruits, kangaroo fillet, emu eggs or perhaps wallaby stir fry. Venturing onto Parachilna Gorge we go onto Blinman copper mines 1859-1908. We return to Wilpena Pound via “great wall of china”,Stokes hill lookout and the Cazenaux tree (B,L,D)

Day 4 : Unfortunately our time in the Flinders Ranges closes as we leave Wilpena Pound and journey south wards, just outside Hawker we visit Yourumbulla caves with some excellent examples of aboriginal rock paintings. Traveling on through Orroroo to Jamestown where we stop Café 47 for our lunch. Continuing on to Clare Valley and stop to enjoy a couple of wineries for tasting (if interested) and final photo opportunities. From the Clare Valley we are direct to Adelaide arriving about 6pm.
